Mercy Children's Home

Mercy Children’s Home was founded in 2004, initially caring for children made destitute by the civil war from a single, rented room. Since then it has grown considerably and is currently a safe and happy home to over 20 children and young people of different tribes, cultures and tongues. Mercy Children’s Home now has its own grounds and runs a small farm and bakery. All of the children attend local schools before going on to further or higher education or training courses.

Friends of Freetown is immensely proud to support the outstanding work of Mercy Children’s Home. We provide regular funding to cover the school fees and living expenses of several children. We also provide funds to help with specific needs.
